What to See at Festival Mode & Design 2016

Local fashion holds a special place in the hearts of Central District business folk – like us! To honor our undying love for the neighbourhood, we’ve highlighted the following shows during this years Festival Mode & Design.

The 2016 FMD conferences are headed by a handful of industry stylists, insiders and associated artists. This years panel guests are a mix of local and international personalisites who have successfully managed to acheive a permanent status of recognition in this notoriously fickle industry.

In addition to the international sensations and Canadiana personalities from beyond our province, local public/media/person of interest sensation Vanessa Pilon will grace the festival as the hostess with the mostess, official spokesperson for Festival Mode & Design 2016. That’s quite the title!

Festival Mode & Design Conferences

We are looking forward to learning more about what will come of the conversations with some of the great minds of the industry, as they go tête-à-tête with one another. Most notably with the brains behind the bandage dress – designer Hervé Léger Leroux. Other FMD conferences of note feature the iconic ”Fashion Television” host Jeanne Beker and Scott Schuman of ”The Sartorialist”. Other notble mentions go to the costume designers behind Cirque du Soleil and ”The Matrix”.

Our top picks for the conferences include: Scott Schulman of The Satorialist, Nota Bene in collaboration with EcoSessions & Ethik and Lise Watier & Jeanne Beker.

Admission per talk varies. Festival passports at $179.46 a piece, and grants access to all scheduled industry talks.

Still undecided? Take the reigns into your own hands and plan ahead by checking out Festival Mode and Design online where you can find the full detailed event schedule and buy tickets to FMD Conferences.

Feeling confident about letting go and allowing fate to decide your social activities? Then just show up at Place des Festivals from August 17th and August 20th anytime between noon and 11 p.m. Catch a spontaneous glimpse of the local scene and snap a peek at the latest trends.
